Share Your Snaps 9. 45/52. #LifeThisWeek. 2018.114.

This week I have been treated to one of my favourite colours ever.

The colour purple. I love the ‘blue-purple’ more than the ‘red-purple.’ I asked my husband about his preference and I think he did not quite get my differentiation.

It’s purple in plants, flowers and of course, the wonderful jacaranda which is so pretty in November.

Are you a fan of purple?

I love local places where purple has popped up. These photos were taken locally: at a nursery, on the street and in a park.

Have a great week everyone. I am off to Westmead today so will be back to comment later!

Today I link with Alicia here: for Open Slather and Kel here for Mummy Mondays. Do visit them too and link up!

Next Week’s Optional Prompt: 46/52. I Remember. 12/11/18.

  1. I love purple. I have discovered my instagram feed seems to take on colours, and purple (or royal blue) seems to be strong favourite…all the photos in a row seem to have that hue. It’s weird. Obviously they’re either in fashion or my subconscious picks them for me

    • It might be related to the jacarandas!

Thank you too for recommending Augusten Burrough’s How. I listened on Audible and his part about hearing bad news (medically) resonated with me so much I have the paper back coming so I can re-read it and share.

  2. I love the jacarandas, Denyse but I was disappointed to hear on the news last week that they are considered a weed and the Brisbane City Council will be removing some 🙁 I love purple although I don’t actually have any clothes that colour. You are looking very nice in your colourful top I love the pattern. Have a great week! xx

    • I know that their petals or whatever they are called can be hazardous and slippery in public spaces but I cannot see the council getting their way on this one without a fight.

Purple would look super on you.

Maybe I have given you food for thought.

      Denyse x

  3. I am attracted to purple in the written form – my blog, my LSL website etc. So much of what I create is purple. But I don’t wear it nor have it in my house. Interesting …

    • I learned to love purple more as I got to appreciate it in nature and then when I seriously got into painting and art. I reckon any colour works with you so give purple a go!!

      Denyse x

  4. I like to look at purple, Denyse. I have very few clothing pieces in purple although my current profile photo shows me wearing a purple t-shirt.

    • How funny! Saying you have little in it and there you are. I really do not have much in purple along but it forms parts of patterns in clothes I enjoy wearing.

  5. I have taken photos of so many flowers this year. They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing yours. X

    • Seriously all my thoughts flew away when I saw those flowers in the public garden yesterday I just had to photograph them. They really help me be mindful

      Denyse x

  6. Lovely photographs Denyse! I adore purple too and like you I prefer to the blue purple to the red purple and know exactly what you mean. The Jacaranda tree is my favourite tree and it’s flowering and looking stunning all over Brisbane at the moment! 🙂 xo

    • A woman who gets the colour differentiation like I do. Thanks Min. I drove to Westmead today in the west of Sydney and along the road (after my Maccas coffee and loo stop) there were many still in flower in suburbs I knew well from living in Sydney. Made me happy seeing them.

      Denyse x

  7. The jacarandas are so gorgeous! I do love the colour purple 🙂

  8. Purple is my favourite colour – I loved your top and all the beautiful flowers Denyse – you’re so much better at remembering to take photos than I am!

    • Thanks Leanne I did not know that about you and purple. It suits you!

I found out the other day when I left my iphone to have its battery changed at Apple that me without a phone for 90 minutes means not photos. So you see, it is highly unlikely I forget. In fact, I think I was in withdrawal for that time!!!

  9. Is it already Jacaranda time of year? Gosh, this year has flown by so quickly! I love Sydney in the spring, my dad’s fruit trees are so beautiful when they flower. Beautiful photos Denyse!

    • Ah yes, and Miss Bride-to-Be, time sure is a-flying…and before you know it 2019 will be upon us. I love you having memories of your Dad’s trees. I drove through Northmead along a very familiar to me path today and there were jacarandas on both sides of the road. Made me remember just how long we lived in the area…36 years.

  10. I am lucky enough to have a jacaranda in my backyard (although it was a lot of years before I realised it was part of my allergy to spring, bringing bees and pollen to my yard 🙁 ) but am looking forward to a white loungeroom instead of purple, it’s looking dated and dingy after 10 years.

    • Well of course, your blog’s name is about purple! Allergies are the worst when you can’t control the environment around you. My son is like that too. A white lounge room sounds like a big change. Go you!!

  11. Your purple photos are lovely! I never used to like purple until a few years ago Denyse. I went to buy my Mother of the Bride outfit and said what I didn’t want, which was purple or sleeveless. I walked out with a purple sleeveless dress with a cute little jacket and felt like a million dollars. It was only for their urging that i even tried it on, it was beautiful and I get so many compliments when I wear it. Orange is usually my colour. Thanks for #lifethisweek

    • Your comment re Mother of the Bride had me cracking up!! Love it. Orange and Purple are sensational and strong. I love you couldn’t guess.

  12. There’s nothing like seeing and wearing your favourite colour to make the day a bit more special!

    SSG xxx

    • Yes, and I had another post for today and decided to make it next week’s instead as this one made me happy to publish and I am loving everyone’s comments too.

      Denyse x

  13. Purple used to be one of my favourite colours but more the reddish type. I still like it but it has been usurpsed by red and orange. Love the pics and I must admit I do love spring for the jacarandas. Hope all went well at Westmead today.

    • I love the colours you talk about too. It was a trip down my memory lane through Northmead on my way to Westmead as we had lived in the north west for 36 years and there are so many jacarandas in bloom. Trip and visit went well but it’s tiring in the chair!!

      Denyse x

  14. Purple is one of those colors that really makes an impression, doesn’t it Denyse??
In fact, Nancy is wearing lilac in today’s post….so it should be right up your alley!

  15. Lovely photos Denyse! I love Jacarandas too. They are gorgeous, especially when they are in full bloom by the Nepean river. Its very pretty. I love all types of purple from violet, magenta to lilac. Its one of my favourite colours 🙂 I hope you have a great week. xx
