2021 New Taking Stock Optional Prompts By Denyse Whelan.

LINK UP is in previous post here. Sorry for any confusion this week.

Shaking Up Prompts for Denyse’s Taking Stock in 2021.

Every 9th Week on Mondays.

Lovely blogger, Pip Lincolne, who is kindness personified and a published author a few times over now, was my inspiration for my Taking Stock Prompts from when I began sharing them a few years back. Here is her blog.

I also made some adjustments over time. Biggest appreciation for Pip when I sought permission to continue to use the term Taking Stock that she had made hers.  She wrote: “Go for your life and do what you like with Taking Stock. I did make up the list and name … but you are welcome to tweak and use it as your own.”

I have two of Pip’s Books.

On this blog, for 2021, I am shaking things up a bit for me.

Maybe you might like to follow. However, feel free to use Taking Stock prompts which work best for you! My amended Taking Stock  list along with Pip’s are at the end of this post.

Every NINE weeks the optional prompt for #LifeThisWeek is Taking Stock.

Here’s Denyse’s  new list for 2021.

Do use it if you like. Just acknowledge it’s from me, as I acknowledge Pip’s!

I hope that you enjoy a regular “taking stock” post as I do. I know some bloggers do theirs on a 3 monthly or even seasonal basis. I know I always like to look back at mine. However, 2021 is about some changes in blogging for me, and this is one.

Enjoy!

Denyse.

  1. Excellent. Might do one soon! Cheers

    • Welcome back to blogging again Lydia…I know you have had a break. Yes, I needed to refresh myself and this and Pip was more than pleased that I asked her and said ‘go for it.’

  2. Hah I like how you’ve used the A to Z feature for this! X could be “xcited” though 😀 And Z: zen about?

  3. Gosh Denyse i used to read PIp’s blog years and years ago when she had her shop and did lots of crafty stuff and spread love all over Melbourne. Then she had an unfortunate break up in her life and things never seemed the same for her and the boys. Will nip over and see how she’s gong after i copy your list and mark the calendar.
Emotional times here at the moment but I’m sure when the first Taking Stock date comes round I’ll find something to say

    • I am sorry to read about how things are for you right now, Cathy. Sending hugs.xx

I met Pip at the Digital Parents Conference in 2012 in Melbourne amongst many bloggers who were there and could see that she was a very popular and much loved person.

I have been following her story, particularly during the tough times of COVID and her break up and now am inordinately pleased she has returned to Tassie where family live and she is on the road to being happier as I see it.

She has a third book, written in lockdown coming out soon too.

Pip is a FB friend and wrote to me very generously with 100% approval when I mentioned I wanted to still call the prompt Taking Stock but making my changes.

Glad this post has helped you reconnect with her too.

      Denyse.

  4. I love a Taking Stock post so I’ll be joining in with these new prompts Denyse! Thanks so much 🙂

    • Well that makes me glad too Deb!

I also love alphabetical stuff….gives me a way to order things…and I am still “waiting” for someone, it might be you, to notice how I have written all the optional prompts (so far on show) for 2021….other than photos, self care and taking stock!

      Denyse.

  5. I’m always in awe of people who can actually remember what they have been doing enough to write one of these 🙂

    • Here’s the thing Vanessa, I may be getting old…fact…but I also love remembering and have been the kind of memory maker (to some people’s annoyance) in my family.

I don’t always remember what I did yesterday though if that’s of interest…

      Denyse

  6. I’ve never heard of this concept, but I LOVE it! Plan to spend some time this week deciding what I want to take stock of in 2021.

    • That’s great Molly. I (and others) use it as a regular post…in this case here every 9 weeks and it literally is a catch up with yourself at the time. Then when you do another, you can compare or contrast how things are for you. I try to do mine without looking back and it’s great to notice what changes in my life. I hope you do have a go (as we say in Australia about a lot of things!) and link up your post when you do. The week for this is Monday 1 March,

Thanks for your comment and hope to see you again,
      Denyse

Denyse values & reads every comment written, thank you. There is always a reply.
