What Is This Blog?

This blog is more than a blog.

Confused?

Sorry.

Over the next month or so, I will be writing of the journey where I started as a blogger, and emerged with more than blogging as my focus.

What is A Blog?

It is, according to many sources, a diary on line, a “weblog” or WEB LOG. Something akin to a ship’s log.

Like many things, over time, abbreviations creep into the vernacular, and the word Blog emerged.

Not so fast.

Even Facebook started as “something else”. It was The Facebook, a Yearbook of sorts from a prestigious university in USA.

Blogging is writing. Or not, as that depends on the view of the reader!

Blogs are made for sharing, and for connecting, and for venting.

They are FOREVER words, and photos, and movies, on the Internet.

Yes. Forever.

This Blog.

For many who saw the beginnings of this blog, there is little to remind them of how it ‘looked’ but there is much to remind them of how it is written, and formatted. This is because I remain the sole owner, writer (blogger, too!) and publisher. However, I have had several high quality bloggers “guest post” for me.

Memories, caring, education and my personal life have been parts of this blog over the 14 months since early December 2010.

However, in reviewing and taking advice from others “who know more than I” changes had to occur, and have occur.

This is where the major shift occurred. From:

    Hi Denyse
I can’t precisely answer that question, but I can give you a “ball park” as they say. It was late 2011, I hopped across to your blog from a link somewhere, on some other blog I was reading. When I first commented I would’ve let you know where I came from but now that info eludes me. I subscribe now, as I have found there are many tidbits that I have enjoyed or found useful from your writing. Unlike many other blogs I’ve read, your commenters always seem to have something valuable to share, & this is another reason I chose to subscribe.

Thank you so much. Your response, which is a blogger’s idea of fulfilment, has been much appreciated. At times, I do feel like I’m telling no-one …yet I know that readers are reading. I love the fact that you have subscribed, and that you find the commenting and commenters of interest too!
Glad to have you here on a regular basis.
      Much appreciation
      Denyse

I think I started reading your blog way back in it’s first incarnation when it was Memories by Denyse. I probably Found it via your comments on MM.

I don’t comment as much now and that’s mainly because you’re educating us. I read and Ilearn, but unless I have something useful to add then I don’t comment. It’s easier to comment on a personal blog than a professional one, I think. rest assured people are reading. X

Thanks for this most helpful comment. It is true that this is more of an informational source now, and as I said to another blogger more of a CV for brands or businesses too. Yes you did start back in Dec 2010 when I was memoriesbydenyse. The world of blogging, and along with our own worlds have changed a lot in that time. Thanks for your on-going support, and care for me too! Love reading your blog. Denyse :-)

Denyse values & reads every comment written, thank you. There is always a reply.
