Noticing Nature. 366/269.

Noticing Nature. 366/269.

I need to remind myself to do this EVERY day and it pays dividends each time for my senses and my mood.

Saturday was a beautiful spring day here and so I went for a little drive along the Wyong River.

It’s been a while since I’ve done that drive so I was interested to see what I noticed.

Here’s what I noticed in nature!

Blue Sky! Look Up, even when the clouds cover it, in meditation we learn there is always BLUE sky!

Do you notice nature (and the changes!) each day?

It’s amazing.

Nature is teaching me that everything changes every single day!

Have a great Sunday wherever you are.

SPRING is Blooming! 366/253.

SPRING is Blooming! 366/253.

This year the planting and nurturing of our little collection of flowers in plant pots has been a very good way for me to remain ‘grounded’ in nature and have an occupation to care for ‘something’ that grows and lives.

In Autumn, I took the risk of giving bulbs a go. I have never had much success in the past. I planted these, a mixed group, in spare places in the plant pots. They received sunshine, rain and all that nature gives.

Now, in early Spring, each morning brings new delight to my senses. I am personally overjoyed seeing the ways in which these bulbs are blooming!

I might not know their names but I do know I love their shapes and colours!

Spring & Scarecrows Are Here. 366/246.

There is something about the new season of Spring and here in this part of the NSW Central Coast it’s started with Scarecrows and more. I went for a drive from our place across to Yarramalong where it’s all happening from this weekend.

Information is below.

Here’s what I found last Sunday afternoon:

Love This Tree! 323/365.

Love This Tree! 323/365.

In Spring in Australia we see the yellow of the wattles fade away which started their bloom in Winter.

But we know more colour is on the way!

By October (mid Spring) we see the purple of the Jacaranda and that is magical especially when it leaves it magical carpet below.

I LOVE this tree too. I call it the Illawarra Flame Tree. Look at this RED!!!

I was out recently and had to walk down a footpath to capture this.

It is often seen near the purple Jacaranda and I love that look too.

But this is a picture of it alone.

I LOVE this tree’s colour!

Spring has definitely arrived..in fact less than 2 weeks now till our SUMMER!

What trees do you find drawn to for their colour?

Bottlebrushes’ Spring Show! 281/365.

Bottlebrushes’ Spring Show! 281/365.

On the driveway into our rental place here on the Bay are a number of ‘bottlebrush’ trees. I am sure they have a botanical name*, but humour me here!

Yesterday, when my day was a little ‘down’ I soon became mindful and right in the moment when composing shots of these beauties.

They are growing everywhere around here, and probably if you are an Aussie reader, close to you too!

There’s bird song each morning (and crap on the car, but let’s not spoilt things too much) and bees seeking the nectar and to look at each stage of growth is magnificent.

Here’s my ‘pick’ of the pics….where I think Bottlebrushes put on a Show in Spring!

How’s spring looking where you are?

Denyse xx
