This week I have been treated to one of my favourite colours ever.

Purple.

The colour purple. I love the ‘blue-purple’ more than the ‘red-purple.’ I asked my husband about his preference and I think he did not quite get my differentiation.

It’s purple in plants, flowers and of course, the wonderful jacaranda which is so pretty in November.

Enjoy!

Are you a fan of purple?

I love local places where purple has popped up. These photos were taken locally: at a nursery, on the street and in a park.

Have a great week everyone. I am off to Westmead today so will be back to comment later!

I love the water.

Toowoon Bay

I like to be near it, swim in it, walk in it and just observe it.

The water can be still, or surging. It can be fresh or salty.

I admit though that I draw the line in the water of the lake as it is a bit murky and smelly. The river is the same.

Now, back to my words: being by the water soothes me and enriches me and also grounds me.

Here are some more snaps from the past couple of months.

Gentle waves…are often replaced by not so gentle ones. As in life!

The lake water is clear but lots of weed. I am not about to get in..just a pic of my feet at the end of a small local jetty.

Arriving at the beach via this sandy track just made me stop to capture what was ahead. Container ships out to see are waiting off Australia’s coast to get clearance to dock in Newcastle or Sydney.

Many photos are taken by me here as it is a stop-off point for the loo as I continue to drive back home. I often use it as another reason to take a photo: the mighty Hawkesbury River, starts in the Blue Mountains, and goes out to sea not far from here.

Messy things these birds and ducks but managed a great shot the seagull. This was a day last week that looked the closest to being rainy. It was not but we got a little 2 days later.

Anglers’ Paradise on the Beach

SPLASH! Love this. And every single wave is different.

This place is a go-to for me to contemplate and be grateful. I came to this bridge and walked here shortly after I was diagnosed with cancer. I have met a friend here to catch up and that was special too. It is a place of memories.

To close: this is my favourite quote about LIFE. From Jon Kabat-Zinn:

Where is your favourite place to be?

Dear Readers and Fellow Bloggers,

THIS is our fifth ‘share your snaps’ and….takes us almost to being HALF-way through 2018.

Didn’t we just post our ‘words and intentions’ for the year ahead?

Please tell me it’s not just me who thinks T I M E is a-flying!! Oh, and it is June equinox this week: longest nights for us in the southern hemisphere, longest days for those in the  north!

Beach Writing by Me! Not right now, though ’tis a bit cool!

Sharing My Snaps here for the fifth time as a prompt was a bit of a challenge: what NOT to post! So I did this instead. A quick update of what I have been up to recently, then more below.

Now: My Share Your Snaps: From a visit to the Hawkesbury River after coming off the Bridge on the M1 to (use the loo, as is tradition) have a break from the drive home from Westmead (done twice in 4 days!) on Friday afternoon.

Are you familiar with this place? For me it has significance in that it is the first stop…if I need one, on the way HOME to the Central Coast…or the last stop …on the way to SYDNEY! The drive on the M1 used to scare me…I wrote about that a long time ago here. and here .

Once I met that challenge once, twice…then I was fine.

I’ve been taking myself to all of the Westmead Prosthodontist visits since early March. My husband drives us to the Lifehouse appointments as he either needs to be there for me post-surgery or he wants to be part of the consultation.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my snaps of late…and I look forward to seeing yours too if you have shared.

Thanks for joining in and reading too.

Denyse.

Alicia has a Monday link up called Open Slather here and I join in there too.

Welcome to the first week of Share Your Snaps.

Every 5th week, the prompt will be this one and it is open for everyone to share their photos. Of course, if you have a post that is not photo-based you too are welcome as this is a prompt-optional link up!

Late last year I chose to add to the weekly prompts a space for sharing photos as there are no (known to me) photo link ups in Australia any more.

So come on in: share yours!

Mine are from January 2018. Enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed viewing these and have shared YOUR snaps too, this week!

Denyse.
