I wanted to do this post before my next surgery on 16 May but I also needed a theme.

Like many in Australia I have been waiting, waiting, waiting for Autumn to arrive and STAY for the supposedly 3 months of:

MARCH

APRIL

MAY

But no, Mother Nature had other plans so she continued with SUMMER temperatures and conditions well into April. Would WINTER just push in and leave AUTUMN out? I hoped not. On Sunday 6 May I drove along Alison Road Wyong towards Yarramalong (I’ve done this drive a few times to see the rolling green hills and country living) and I was rewarded. Thanks Mother Nature. Happy to see these, alongside the road.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip in the country!

What snaps have you shared this week here?

Thanks for joining in.

Denyse.

P.S. After this little drive, later in the week,  WINTER snuck in just like that…..

Linking up with my friend Alicia here for Open Slather too.

  1. So interesting, Denyse, to read and see your snaps of Autumn while we’re in Spring here. I’m happy to share some of my snaps of spring flowers. Thank you for hosting the link up. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!

  2. I love the Autumn colours Denyse and I agree that I thought the weather gods were going to skip straight from Summer to Winter here in Qld. What a beautiful start to the week and good luck with the next round of surgery. xx

    • It does seem like we were short-changed on Autumn! Pretty nasty weekend of wind and rain but now, Monday, sun is back with a cool wind.

I guess you do not get as much of the seasonal Autumnal changes in Qld.

      Thanks for good wishes,

      Denyse x

  3. I love the red leaves…we got some in the mountains when we went in the holidays. I am already over winter. It will be a long three months!

    • I too am drawn to the red ones!

I went to Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens some years back when I lived in Sydney’s west and it was a seasonal treat!

  4. It definitely feels like Winter here in SA lately with all the rain and cold weather! Great snaps. Good luck with your next surgery xx

  5. I love these – and miss the colour of Autumn…and the blossoms of Spring.

    • Yes I understand that too.

Sometimes I ensure I go down to Dads’s along Telegraph Road in Pymble because the trees there are truly seasonal.

  6. Autumn colours are so glorious, especially the red and orange leaves!

  7. I would be happy if winter never came! I am freezing!

  8. I’m so happy the cooler weather is finally here at last! I’m not a winter person but I was sick of the humidity and disturbed by how long summer was lasting!

  9. Your leaves are trying so hard to turn . Ours have well and truly turned and are now in the process of falling off. Winter well on its way 🙂

    • Ah the Canberra streets must be so beautiful.

I love the autumn tree at Parliament House where the pollies to their chats on TV as it is so distinctive.

  10. Nooo! I hope Winter goes away again for a little longer so that you get to enjoy the autumn for a while! I love spring and autumn because you can almost feel the weather changes happening by the day 🙂

    • I think we are stuck in Winter. We are going to Sydney tomorrow to stay up the road from the hospital and last time it was Feb and it was delightful visiting the city and catching a ferry. We will wait till we arrive after lunch to decide now!

You are in a great place with Spring happening all over!

  11. Autumn in Australia is always beautiful isn’t it Denyse? We’ve had some beautiful days of blue skies and cool breezes – Winter is on the way but it can take its time! I shared my DIL’s guest post today – it had some lovely photos of her and our little granddaughter – so sharing photos by proxy 🙂

    • How lovely. I will look forward to reading the post.

Yes the between seasons are good but in Australia we like to do the extremes!!

  12. Autumn is so beautiful, I enjoy the change in pace of life as the season progresses.

    • It is a delight! I hope there are a few around Sydney I might see later today. AND if the breeze isn’t too much we are hoping to have a ferry ride.

We’ ll be staying in your work ‘hood tonight!! I am first on the list tomorrow at COBLH so hoping to be home around this time tomorrow too. Crazy but I am always a good recoverer so here’s to that then as well. Denyse x

  13. Winter came in with an icy blast straight from Antartica for us this week. Right when I was enjoying the LOVELY autumn afternoon sun. Love the colours of autumn 🙂

    • It just doesnt last long enough. We are in Sydney tonight for my early start as first on the list for surgery tomorrow. We will be walking up to the hospital to arrive at 6.00 am and already know the wind is coming from the south…head winds!! Fortunately it is only a 5 min walk.

      Denyse x

  14. Beautiful photos. Thinking of you and knowing you are stronger than you think

    • Thank you. Typing in the apartment just down the road from the hospital. We arrive at 6.00….and that means I am first on the list and then hopefully home by lunchtime back up the coast. Your good wishes are much appreciated.,

  15. I love the Autumn leaves but looks like NZ skipped Autumn and went straight to Winter.

Denyse values & reads every comment written, thank you. There is always a reply.
